WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH A PORTRAIT

VI

n considering where to hang the portrait, keep in mind your light sources, both natural and artificial. A portrait under glass should not be positioned so that light bounces off the glass, which can strongly interfere with the effect. There are now available special lamps light fixtures that light the portrait more strongly and provide illumination even at night and in gloomy weather. You may want to consider this.

ut if you are particularly inventive, we might suggest other alternatives for making use of your beloved portrait. Let's say, having a miniature version printed on your business card or personal wall calendar. And don't forget about miniature photocopies--for personal objectives or commercial projects. Here, however, there may arise a few legal considerations. In imparting the portrait, the artist may stipulate certain conditions on its future use. And rightly so. For example, only for personal use without the right to reproduction and replication in some other venue or in some other way. This is all in the rightful scheme of things, and one most look on it in a calm and considered manner.
