The Cooperative Work Process | How to Prepare for a Sitting | What Can Be Done with a Portrait

ow does one prepare for a sitting? For the most part, not at all. Be yourself, and the artist himself will find the required perspective, and will suggest a pose. At the very least, it's not likely to make sense to rush off to a makeover artist, hairdresser or tailor. But then, in saying that the model shouldn't prepare himself for working with the artist, I'm acting a little bit against my own conscience.

irst of all, in getting ready to go to a portrait sitting, it's important to put oneself in a good place physically. When the body is relaxed, this is also automatically reflected in the face. You must sleep well. Get more fresh air, as they say (if that's possible in our big city). Additionally, a portrait sitting takes a while. And that requires effort not only on the part of the artist (naturally), but also from the model.
